Beloved Betty MacDonald fan club honor member Monica Sone passed away a year ago.
Monica Sone, author of Nisei Daughter and Betty MacDonald's friend, described as Kimi in Betty MacDonald's book THE PLAGUE AND I, is still alive in the hearts of her family, her friends and many Betty MacDonald and Monica Sone fans around the world.

Several Monica Sone and Betty MacDonald fans are going to meet each other at the Paralympics in London today. They'll have a special Monica Sone memorial.
